Vangelis Agnantopoulos, ART 10 GALLERY's Inauguration

About the artist

Vangelis Agnantopoulos was born in Athens in 1964.
He paints professionally since 1990. Although he started his studies at the Athens School of Fine Arts and has been taught at Yiannis Tsarouchis atelier, essentially is self-taught. His work belongs to the abstract contemporary art, with strong influence of POP ART, and has been presented since 1987 in group and solo exhibitions in galleries in Athens.

He has worked for the theater as stage assistant with George Asimakopoulos between 1987 and 1990 and has also created with Michael Topkaras the stages for the theatrical play of Vasilis Myrianthopoulos "The world of Patty", in 2000. He has worked as merchandiser and interior designer for several years.
V. Agnantopulos likes bright colors, contrasts, so his work is characterized by strong alternations in themes and techniques, such as mix techniques, collage - painting, construction.
For personal reasons he remained away from the artistic arena for about ten years, until June 2008, when he established with Lefteris Vichos the ART 10 GALLERY.
